Joswig Solutions Develops New Membership Area for GDM

The scientific society Gesellschaft für Didaktik der Mathematik (GDM) from Berlin hired Joswig Solutions to migrate membership data from their web application to their new WordPress website. Our job was to analyze the existing SQL database structure, translate it to a human-readable format (CSV), and split the backup into smaller chunk files. Next, we installed and customized the membership plugin “Ultimate Member“. It allows members to sign up, log in, browse the membership directory, update their personal data, and subscribe to internal newsletters. In the end, we set up the plugins “Import and export users and customers” and “Advanced Custom Fields” to create WordPress accounts and profile fields for each GDM member.
